The Fenwick High School academic curriculum is designed to build upon and prepare the whole student beginning with classroom instruction.
Five academic credit courses must be taken each year; a sixth and/or seventh academic subject may be taken by students who are qualified. Students in the class of 2024, 2025, and 2026 need twenty - two credits for graduation. Starting with the class of 2027 students will need twenty-three credits for graduation.  Elective classes may be taken provided a student's cumulative grade point indicates that attempting a sixth course would be desirable and in the student's best interests.

Fenwick offers an honors program for students of exceptional ability. Individual departments set criteria in honors level classes. It is important that a student chooses a course not for its weighted grade, but rather because of sincere interest in the course content and its applicability to the student's future academic pursuits. Fenwick also participates in the Advanced Placement (AP) program.
